Storage Cabinet

This cabinet was built from a retired restaurant food rack. The speed rack was cleaned up and reworked. Individual drawers were made to slide in and out of the stainless steel runners. Each drawer has a different wood collected over the years from different areas and with different histories. The piece I'm displaying has been sold already but it's used as an example of other pieces I can make. The wood in this cabinet is:
Peruvian black walnut- saved from an old sailboat.
Redwood- cut down and milled by hand in the suburbs of Pasadena California.
Maple- is from Massachusetts and was cut over 100 years ago.
Olive wood- it came from trees cut down from an old Spanish mission in Los Angeles.
Cherrywood- came from Vermont in the northern kingdom and came down in a storm five years ago. Anyone ordering this piece for me can talk to me about all the woods I have available for making the next piece.
