Swinging bench looking for a permanent home. Here's some of what you can expect: Made with coastal Douglas Fir frame and Griffith Park native redwood bench left over from the Griffith Park Teahouse project. Burned and clear coated with Polyurethane for extreme outdoor protection. Maple wedged oak pegs and partial gluing allow for seasonal movement of the bench. Aluminum rails recessed under the feet to raise the frame above any standing water. Finally small holes are drilled in the lower mortises to allow drainage. Everything is built with mortise and tenon joinery and held together with oak pegs. The only metal here is the chain and the hidden feet.
