This pair of off-white Tall Chests was requested by a customer that was very specific in how they were to be made & painted, as they wanted them to match an existing bed & night stands. The craftsman & customer communicated back and forth until the final design & size of the Tall Chests were finalized.

The Tall Chests were made from birch/birch plywood, while the side panels were made from bead board. All drawers were constructed of poplar, assembled with dovetail joinery, and sprayed with 2 coats of lacquer. Drawers are mounted on & move on Blumotion undermount drawer slides. Drawer knobs were selected by the customer and installed.

After the drawer fronts were fitted and all drawers tested for smooth operation, the edges of the Tall Chests & drawer fronts were given a coat of black paint. Afterwards, the Tall Chests were sprayed with 2 coats an off-white semi-gloss paint selected by the customer to match the existing bedroom set. The customer then choose to "distress" the painted edges by sanding/removing some of the off-white paint & expose some of the black paint.
