Teacup . Saucer

My teacups starts as a thrown shape on the potter's wheel that is then altered to form the darted sides and cut, then pinched lip; handle is hand-formed and added. Colored slip details were added with a metal-tipped slip trailer to create a tactile fabric-like wrap all around it that you can see with your eyes and feel with your fingers.

Each teacup measures approximately 4"L x 3"W x 3.5"H and holds about 5 oz. of liquid. Saucers and tea bag holders are available to make a complete set.

The teacup is glaze fired to cone 6 in an electric kiln with lead-free and food-safe glazes that I mix myself to fit my palette of pink, lite yellow, and baby blue. Various patterns are available and personalized elements can be added such as names and dates as the one picture here. Makes a great, personalized gift for births and graduations!
