Teddy Bears Made From An Old Fur Coat

This was a project for a grandmother who wanted to turn her mother's fur coat into teddy bears for her 6 grandchildren. The coat was real mink fur as far as I could tell.

I purchased a pattern for a small 7" bear and enlarged it to create 13" tall bears. Each one is completely hand sewn due to the fragile nature of older furs. The pads of the paws were made from the lining of the fur coat. The arms and legs are movable and posable. Each one in the end cost about $100 to create.
