Working with John was a very positive experience. He quickly replied to any question I asked. I asked him if it would be possible to expedite the shipping date, he quickly agreed.
His "artwork" has a mesmerizing quality to it, when I look at it, it draws me towards the various components within the piece.
Even though it is an "abstract" piece of work, all the different shapes and colors blend into one in a beautiful manner.
I made this sculpture from a standing dead aspen tree. My goal was to cover the back and sides of the snake with many abstract forms. They are painted on using acrylic paint, airbrush and stencils. The natural color and details of grain show through. The piece is varnished to protect the wood from stains, and the varnish has been abraded to make a very matte finish. This piece is intended as a wall sculpture. It has two d-ring hangers, allowing it to be hung at angles appropriate to its setting.
