Texas Live Oak Occasional Table

This is one of the first of many pieces that have been made from my own personally milled lumber stock. This piece features a heavily cracked, and filled with black epoxy, Texas Live Oak top with a welded steel base that has been powder coated matte black.

The Live Oak came from a fallen tree in the North Austin neighborhood of Oak Ridge and was milled over Memorial Day weekend in 2016. The tree had succumbed to Oak Wilt 2-3 years prior and the owner of the property had it removed for safety reasons. This tree was a registered "heritage tree", with the City of Austin. The tree may have died, but it lives on as this one of a kind table.

Finish: The top has been finished with an all natural, plant based oil finish with zero VOCs. This finish is environmentally and family friendly, adds excellent durability with the ease and beauty of an oil finish

Dimensions: 40" L x 21" W x 17" T

I made this item with my hands. I operate a one man shop, outside of Austin TX.
