The China Guitar

This project took me almost 11 years from start to finish. The guitar itself was made from flamed maple, with an ebony fingerboard. From the landscape brush and ink painting on the front of the body to the 1800+ piece dragon inlaid on the back, this playable artwork came together almost exactly as I planned it. The only electronics on it is a Roland synth pickup with the controls buried in the string tailpiece, so no knobs or magnetic pickups would disturb the flow of Lampo Leong's brush and ink landscape, making this an exotic MIDI controller rather than an electric guitar.
