One of my favourite pieces. I made it on spec, from lumber I harvested some years ago in a friend's bush near Wellesley, Ontario. The nicest ash I've seen, it has a delicate curly figure, so I saved it for something special.
I was able to book match flitches for the sides and top, and the grain runs around the whole piece. Notice how the grain flows across the drawer fronts. The back is fuly finished frame and panel construction.
Traditional joinery throughout (fully mortise and tenoned, dovetailed case and drawers). Finish is catalyzed lacquer.
