The Madison Bed Swing

The Madison Bed Swing design was influenced by the century-old "Perry House" at 1802 Madison Avenue, in Montgomery Alabama. The home, which was built in 1904, was originally set to be destroyed by the city, but members of the neighborhood had something else in mind for the 3,890 square foot residence. Rather than demolishing the once-striking structure, the group elected to renovate it into a liveable space. It was shortly after the start of renovation that we became aware of this, so we quickly made our way to the house to see if there was anything left worth salvaging. Luckily, we salvaged some tongue and groove boards and the spindles that you see on this swing. Since we only had a small amount of the reclaimed spindles, all new orders of the Madison Bed Swing will have different spindles on it. All of our Bed Swings come with 40 ft of your choice of rope or chain. When we construct a swing bed, you can be sure that it will be built to last. Not only do we use the high strength grade 8 hardware on all our joints, we back that up with a liberal amount of the strongest rated wood glue you can buy. Strong enough to be used alone, this wood glue holds so well that the wood itself will break before the glue does. So whether your swing bed is outside on the porch, in the weather or inside the house, you can be sure your swing bed will stand up to what you can put it through.
