The Nocturnus, A Night Light
The Victor Nocturnus Wall Lamp series are antique radios that has been upcycled and repurposed into accent lamps; they emit a soft orange glow. They typically stand around 40" tall by 26" wide. The rotary knobs within the center are the functional on/off switch. As these are commissioned pieces, final color selection is at the discretion of the client.
These pieces attache to a wall using a simple hanging wedge cleat. It utilizes a standard, low wattage light bulb, accessed from a panel on the back of the cabinet.

After cutting it in half and repairing all the woodwork, the repurposing began: the inserts were gilded in brass, functional gauges were added with new lighting and rotary switch electrical components, and the whole exterior was painted and glazed. Isinglass was used where the speaker grill originally resided.
The piece mounts on the wall using a french cleat, and functions as a nightlight.
