The Pecky Dining Table-Farmhouse Style Table Made Reclaimed New Orleans Homes

Made to order- The Pecky Dining Table is a farmhouse inspired table made from a rare type of Louisiana wood known as Pecky cypress.

This is an old growth grade of wood that was cut down in the 1850s and used to construct a small shotgun home in the 7th Ward neighborhood of New Orleans. This area was devastated in Hurricane Katrina and received nearly 7 feet of floodwater. The remnants of this quaint and charming home now live on in the form of this uniquely designed table.

These artistic pecky formations come from a fungal attack within the tree while it is still alive. Once cut, the fungal strand dies and the pecky process stops forming. The divots and pockets of the wood are all properly sealed, waxed, and protected. It is safe and suitable to be to used as dining room table. If food or liquid is spilt, you simply wipe the mess up just like on any other table.

Each table is made to order and can be customized to your preference. The table shown measures 38" wide x 74" long x 30" high. The color is a natural waxed finish. I offer a variety of different colors and sizes. Larger sizes and customized colors may increase the price.
