The Tessaquinary, An Accent Table Lamp

This is an accent light, not intended for general illumination. In the evenings, it puts off an absolutely fantastic glow. The central light has two levels of illumination, its action controlled by the two knobs on the top lid. The panel meter functions, energizing when the light is turned on with the larger knob. Other than the panel meter electrics, rotary switches, and some standard fittings, every part is hand-made. Also, as these lights are handmade, there is typically some design variation from piece to piece.

Of possible interest: there are 280 holes in the central light cage, all bored one at a time on a drill press.

The Tessaquinary is not "assemblage art". Rather, every part is hand-made for its specific application within the overall design (other than the obvious screws, nuts, and assorted fittings). As is typical in my work, no adhesives are used in the assembly of the various parts (meaning, for example, this copper fitting is not glued to that wood plate). Rather, every part is attached mechanically, using heirloom quality materials and finishes. The lamp stands around 40 inches tall, and can be disassembled in its entirety with a screwdriver.

TAKE NOTICE: If a commission is placed for a Tessaquinary, you will receive a piece similar to the one in the above photos: it will not be exactly the same. As all my pieces are hand-made, the final products end up slightly different from lamp to lamp.

NOTE: My pieces are made to order. The 3-4 week shipping time is an estimate: it can and has been much longer, depending on my order work load. Contact me for a more accurate build schedule.
