THIS TABLE IS A VARIATION of one designed and built by Charles and Harvey Greene for the William R. Thorsen House in Berkley, CA. The Greenes were renown architects and furniture designers of the Arts and Crafts period.

Cutouts in the shape of a "tsuba" decorate the sides of the table and serve as a means of opening the drawer. The "breadboard" table top is a staple of Greene and Greene design.

USES: In the bedroom, the table may be used as a nightstand, in the office it is a versatile printer stand. It makes a beautiful end table for your Arts & Crafts living room, or just use it as a small table in any niche, nook or cranny that could benefit from a small table or chest.

CRAFTSMANSHIP: We hand craft our Bedside Chest out of the solid hardwood and select hardwood veneers with the precession joinery typical of fine Arts and Crafts Period furnishings. But we also include the latest drawer technology. Our full extension under-mount glides are virtually invisible and make drawer operation smooth, safe and trouble-free. A self-close mechanism softly shuts the drawer for you and makes sure it stays closed. Each pair of slides is rated to hold 100 lbs.

Finished in our seventeen-step hand-applied finish with top coats of durable and nearly indestructible polyurethane, this is a piece designed and built to last many lifetimes with minimal care. We also offer custom finishes including hand-polished lacquer.
