This Maloof inpsired rocking chair is crafted from highly figured tiger maple, the wavy surface appears almost three dimensional. The flexible back braces feature a matching spalting pattern emanating from the center. This effect was achieved by slicing a single piece of spalted maple into 2mm thin laminations and reconstructing into separate matching components. The backside of the braces feature figured walnut, providing a contrasting accent that is also repeated on the bottom of the rockers.
