Tray Lamp

This was an interesting project. I had a client that wanted a light over an antique tray with antique figurines on it. The location was under a staircase, against a block wall with no electrical outlets. She didn't want to run a cord under the carpet to get to a plug in so I decided to make a lamp that would run off a rechargeable 12v battery. The battery plugs into any USB recharger. We started with a picture light meant for framed artwork on a wall. I had to work up a tubing system that would hold the lamp and carry the wires to a lidded box I made for the battery. Then I had to make legs and a base so it could stand against the wall behind the tray. This is what I came up with.

The dimensions are 43" tall x 28" wide x 14" deep. The materials are walnut, copper, brass and rosewood (for the handle on the box).
