"Treewings" Bathroom Stained Glass Window

This stained glass window is installed in a first floor powder room of a lovely home in a Philadelphia suburb. It's design was inspired by the customer's collection of artifacts related to leaves and trees. Maple seedlings, those winged fruits of the big trees, are repeated three times---in stipple ice white opalescent glass and in a brownish-pink mouth-blown (antique) glass. Filling out the design are pale amber mouth-blown and burgundy and white "catspaw" mottled opalescent glasses. The combination is not only colorful and textural, it provides privacy for the bathroom while allowing some view out. These opalescent glasses were hand-made in Pennsylvania and Oregon. A graceful nature theme complements the decor of the bathroom and the adjoining sitting room. This window is about 17" square.
