Turned Handle Bottle Opener

These bottle openers are made of locally collected wood. The lighter wood with the dark brown or black grain is Hickory and the wood with the light brown is maple. The small bowl is made of cherry and this wood in addition to walnut (another local wood that has a much darker appearance) also make excellent handles. The metal portion is a pewter finish that can be unscrewed for easy cleaning. I finish all of my handles with a food safe coconut oil and beeswax finish. If the finish ever dulls a simple application of olive or coconut oil will bring back the original shine. This simple maintenance with ensure that you have a long lasting bottle opener.
I enjoy making these bottle openers because they allow me to create a functional item that can be used daily, and it highlights the natural beauty of the wood I am working with.
Custom orders are happily accepted and can be quickly accommodated.
These bottle openers make excellent gifts and can be customized with date or initial stamps on the end of the handle. Check back soon, as I hope to soon add hand forged bottle openers to my inventory.
