This is a hand turned spalted maple bowl from my woodworking shop. Spalting occurs naturally as the wood dries and provides unique patterns, in this case, what looks like liquid dripping down the edges is the spalting in the maple. The bowl is turned on my lathe and I sand my turnings 6 times down to 500 grit (which is very smooth) and then apply 6 coats of food safe finish. This is perfect for an entryway, living room, or kitchen. It's very light and graceful to the touch but still a sturdy bowl to use in your home.
