Here in Vermont we have "mud season" -- when the snow is melting, the sap is running in the maple trees, and the dirt roads are soft and rutted. Thus, we need that most uniquely Vermont room of the house -- the mudroom. Perhaps you need one also? Homecoming Woodworks has done quite a number of mudrooms.
