When my grandson was born, his parents wanted a storage cabinet for the nursery that would also temporarily serve as a changing table. They showed me several pictures they found on the internet and told me what they liked and didn't like about each.
I measured the space available for the piece and sketched out the basic design. With that I was able to discuss specific design elements with the kids. They came up with this multi-functional design. I used construction-grade lumber to save on costs and mortise-and-tenon construction to ensure durability.
As my grandson grows up, this cabinet will change with his needs. The upper portion can be used for hanging clothes or accommodate a flat screen TV. The unpainted shelves can be removed to allow for longer items to be stored. And, of course, it can be repainted. In the mean time, he has found some additional uses for the cabinet that his parents and I did not consider.
With a few emails and perhaps a telephone call or two, I can help you design a cabinet that fits your needs, space, and style. You can choose the wood, the finish, and many other design elements. Once the design is complete, I can begin creating your one-of-a-kind cabinet.
