Vintage-Chic Desk, Entry Or Bar Table

This is a table made from the base of a 1920's sewing machine, re-engineered to stretch it to be able to support a top of up to four feet; it has been only lightly restored so as to preserve its original texture and finished with linseed oil to fix its vintage patina.

In this version the top is a two-and-a-half inch thick slab of
Hard Maple that has been sanded to an organic smoothness and finished with a triple coat of indoor/outdoor polyurethane. This is a high-character piece of live-edged wood - beautifully waved graining, striking sapwood contrast, heavily barked along some edges and a deep gorge along one side. As a Desk, console, entry or bar table it makes a stunning architectural statement while being functional at the same time. It can be used indoors or outdoors.

Alternately I can furnish a larger top - say 48x32 inches, also fine live-edged wood - to convert the piece into a dining table for six
(whose price will depend on the choice of wood).

I can offer only a single piece of this Vintage-chic table because of the rarity of its base

Note that for this piece shipping is pretty variable with distance. I've marked a median cost and will obtain the best rate when I know your location
