Vintage US Army Medical Division First Aid Kit container converted into a limited edition Ammodor cigar humidor.

Built from a rare, metal, WWII era, repurposed US Army first aid kit container in great condition. Rated to hold 20-25 cigars (measured with Corona size 5.5″ x 42 ring gauge) – a great size for traveling.

Originally, these kits were used during WWII, usually stashed away in a holding bracket that was centrally located under a Jeep or Ford dashboard. Glued inside the lid was a paper contents list illustrating where each unit should be placed in the container, as well as some directions and recommendations related to First-Aid treatment (when available - some containers will not have this) .

The container is constructed of thick, solid steel – no cheap aluminum or tin here. Exterior features vivid original painted stencils. It has a rubber gasket in the lid so it's 100% air tight like Ammodors are famous for. Snap tight latches allow the lid swing open like a tradition humidor. A carry handle on the side makes it portable and travel friendly. Exterior measurements are around 9.5″ x 5″ x 2.75″. The interior is professional lined with high quality 1/4″ thick solid Spanish Cedar wood.

HOW ARE THEY MADE?

Built using a vintage US Military surplus first aid kit container. Previously used by our US Armed Forces. They are nearly indestructible and feature a secure flip open lid with a rubber seal around the rim – making Ammodors 100% waterproof and air-tight. They have a ton of character and will be an instant conversation piece.

The interior sides and bottom are lined with precision milled 1/4″ thick Spanish Cedar that looks and smells great. Spanish Cedar is the preferred lining for high-end humidors since it offers natural protection from bugs, tobacco worms and mold. It has a high humidity absorption characteristics and is the perfect choice for an ideal cigar humidification environment. Handcrafted with accurate 45 degree angled miter cuts.

The bottom exterior is lined with OD green felt to prevent your ammo box humidor from scratching any delicate table top surfaces.

All ammo cans are thoroughly cleaned and sanitized prior to becoming an Ammodor – they will not harm your cigars with harmful odors or chemicals.



OTHER THINGS YOU SHOULD KNOW

Ammodors tactical ammo can humidors are built using surplus ammo cans that have been proudly used by our Armed Forces. Due to this fact, the outside of the can may have minor scratches, dings, light exterior rust and painted stencils may vary. Frankly, we think that's what makes Ammodors so cool! Exterior markings and stencils will vary. Be warned, if you're looking for a "pretty" cigar humidor, look somewhere else!

Ammodors are built by hand, made to order. Please allow at least 1-5 business days for production of your humidor prior to shipment (depending on current order load and material availability). Contact us with any rush order requests.
