Voyager In San Francisco

Working with the boutique clothing store Revolver in San Francisco and Austin Home goods shop Spartan, I helped design and build out the collaborative store Voyager on Valencia st in the popular Mission district of San Francisco.

For the Revolver side we used reclaimed lumber (and when those ran out we aged the materials to match) to creat a beach side cabin feel to offset a special submarine installation by artist Jay Nelson. The rustic wood was balanced using light steel tubing that has been sealed with clear coat to protect the merchandise from rusty steel.

For the center of the store We created an alley of desirable home goods that was displayed on aged and stained douglas fir inset to steel tubing structures that had fold away doors and storage for merchandise underneath. The center aisle units were on smooth rolling castors to help move the heavy pieces incase the store needed rearranging. hidden hardware shelving was made of douglas fir as well with custom hanging hardware that was set inside of the wood to be completely floating. The center piece was a whimsical wood structure with twisted red cord suspending exposed filament light bulbs that felt like walking among the stars.
