This is a wall relief done in a stairwell of a residetial home. I used the picture of a tree out of home and garden magazine. The picture was about 4" square. I scaled out a grid on the wall, sketched the outline of the tree to specs and filled it in with drywall compound. I gave it a bark texture then painted the wall and relief white. I then sponge finished the wall with three other neutral colors. They were very happy with it. The trunk of the tree is about 5 to 6 inches thick and tapers as the branches get smaller.
