My grandson Calvin inspired me to make him a chess board for his birthday.
It is made of solid walnut and ash with a hand rubbed finish of beeswax, paraffin and mineral oil. With a drawer on each side, you can store the chess pieces when not in use. Dimensions can be modified, according to your needs, as well as your choice of wood type.
