I curated Darin to create a piece for an employee who recently purchased their dream home. Darin's communication, attention to detail and professionalism is second to none. Thank you for an excellent piece that my employee will enjoy for many years.
I wanted to make a charcuterie board for my wife for Christmas and I had some live edge walnut and other rough cut walnut in my wood stock, so I started to play with ideas that met with the shape of the wood and the concept. I truly enjoyed the process of design, carving, sanding, and finishing this piece and decided to make more to share. I love how the form follow function, and the details of the grain and the carved spice hollows.
Each board that I make is different as I am responding to the materials.
You could use this as a cutting board, but I would recommend that it be used as an aesthetically unique serving board or have your cake and eat it too... flip it over and cut on the back side. Finished with a food safe mineral oil.
I can also make these boards in other woods as well, but I am showing spalted maple, burled elm, cherry, sap walnut wood and walnut. The live edge option is easier to accommodate in some species of wood than others. Other great options could be maple, walnut, hickory, spalted maple, cottonwood, oak, elm, ash, honey locust, etc. If you have a specific species in mind, let me know. I am flexible.

Pricing starts around $98, and will depend on your needs, the species and figure of the wood, details such as carved spice indentions, butterflies (or bow ties), size, live edge, how much finish is required etc.
My normal time frame to make these is around 4 weeks +/-. If you need something quickly and just need me to send you a board I may have in the studio, let me know what you desire below and that you need it quickly and If available I will choose something nice, snap a pic and once you approve, send it out to you!

I started talking with Darin about a charcuterie board in late 2019. I had something in my mind's eye and Darin patiently continued a dialogue with me for months to realize something really beautiful (thanks Darin, the board arrived today). From showing me previous commissions, finished boards currently available in his store, to rough, unworked raw material in his workshop, we eventually decided on a path forward. From there Darin consulted me about dimensions, finish and options for fill. Honestly, once the wood was selected for the work, I deferred to him for most decisions because, after all, he is the expert and I obviously share many of his preferences, or I wouldn't have landed on his site in the first place. The board is stunning and the wood's natural quirks and details shine.
