Walnut Mantel With Metal Inlay
Solid fireplace mantel with metal inlay. This is a great way to get a mantel with more of a rectangular shape. Reclaimed beam mantels in the old barns are usually square -- 6x6s, 8x8s, etc... This is way to get that nice deep shelf with recliamed wood.
The metalwork is all hand hammered, coal fire forge work. This is important because the metal takes on a more dynamic color range than if we just use a gas forge. The rivets on the metalwork can be flush or protruding. Protruding provides a nice spot to hand Christmas stockings and other decorations.
This style can be made of any kind of wood -- modern walnut, reclaimed oak, cherry, reclaimed douglas fir, you name it. Lots of neat options here.
The reclaimed oak one with nail holes in the face is currently available. It is 4.25in tall x 7.75in deep x 72in long.
Pricing varies by wood species and size of mantel. In general, for the wood portion, oak runs $110/LF and walnut runs $160/LF. Metalwork runs $200. Shipping is currently $150 for oak; $175 for walnut. (we package walnuts plywood for safe shipping).

Kevin and his team were outstanding. They accommodated all of our requests to find the perfect beams, etc. They worked with us all along the way and communicated on a regular basis. It arrived in days and was packaged expertly. Most important, the mantel self is amazing and we are very excited to add it to our whole house renovation. We highly recommend Antique Woodworks!!!!!
