Walnut Bookcase Cabinet
The Walnut wood was saved from a man in New Mexico that was going to burn the tree. The husband and wife had the tree cut and they planed the boards themselves. The husband passed away 7 years ago and his wife moved from New Mexico to Arkansas and decided to complete the project she and her husband had started so many years before. This cabinet is fully an act of love. I designed this cabinet and she said that was exactly what she had envisioned, but could not express. She asked me what I thought her husband would say, since he was a mechanical engineer ... I told her he'd probably say "I could have done that", she said that's sounds just like something he'd say. Everything from this cabinet including the crown and the bunn feet wer made from this trove of 300 board foot of Walnut, except the 1/4" Walnut veneered panels for drawers and doors.
