Walnut Storage Cabinets
These tall narrow cabinets were designed to fit in a small NYC foyer, as an an elegant storage solution for organizing hats, gloves, scarves in the upper drawers and shoes in the lower open cubbies.
The client loved the look of black walnut, but the budget wouldn't allow for solid wood. Our solution was to build the cases and drawer fronts of walnut veneer hardwood plywood, saving the more expensive solid walnut for edging details.
Drawers were constructed of solid Aspen with routed slide details. The base is mortise and tenon sapele with an ebonized finish.
The finish on the cabinets is a danish oil base topped with multiple layers of satin poly for water resistance and added durability.
