his sculpture is an example of a horse head sculpture that Mark Poleski can carve. The piece in the photos was recently purchased by a racing and training stable in Maryland.
This sculpture is modeled after a Warmblood-type horse but Mark can sculpt any breed. Custom accents, such as the semi-circle arc at the base of the neck, can be added or the horse's conformation can remain true to form.
The horse pictured is carved from reclaimed walnut wood. Most any species of wood can be used, and the price could vary depending on the material used.
The horse sculpture is blocked out with chainsaws and hand-tooled, sanded and polished to an exquisite finish. It would look fabulous in the home as a commanding tabletop feature sculpture in the dining room, entry way, living room or office. It would also be a beautiful addition to a stable entryway, tack room or lounge.
