Watercolor Lake Cross-Sections

A recent interest of bathymetry (the measurement and mapping of the bottom of water features) combined with a homesickness for my home state of Maine, has inspired this new mapping project.

I seek to celebrate the grace, the mystery and the beauty of water bodies. Rarely do we get to consider their true shape and their unseen depths.

These paintings can range from small (5" x 12") or large (12" x 60") or can be done in a series.

They can be made with specific data of a particular water body, or can be made as abstracts.

Colors can also be chosen, ranging from the dark blues and greens of temperate regions, to silty turquoises of alpine lakes.

Dimensions: Any dimensions you'd like. I advise a panoramic shape, atleast 5" by 12".
