The Wilderness Scout III from Fire Creek Forge.
This knife is designed to take care of you in the wilderness, the camp, or just your backyard.
Tough enough to baton with when cutting kindling; deft enough to dress out game and slice vegetables for the pot.
We make the WSIII from 80CrV2. This is a very tough, high carbon steel. It is heat treated for optimum edge retention and toughness at a target hardeness of 60-61 RC.
Other favorite steels like O1 and 1095 also available.
The handle is made of canvas Micarta, which becomes more "grippy" when wet. It is secured with handle bolts and epoxy for "bomb proof" construction.
A lanyard hole makes easy tethering for use over water or deep snow.
We pair the WSIII with a full grain hand stitched leather sheath. It can be carried with the traditional belt loop, or with a dangler attachment from the D-ring.
