Wine Rack/Kitchen Island
This is a kitchen island with a built in wine rack and storage shelves. It's on casters, and has two 6 inch leaves on the long sides, which can fold up to serve as a dining area.
The frame is welded square steel tubing with square rod. It's been treated with gun blue and mineral oil. The wood is some very unusual curly, spalted quartersawn sycamore. It has been biscuit joined, and finished using polyurethane for water-resistance, and mineral oil.
Commissioned through Custom Made, now residing with its new owners in Durham NC. We enjoyed making it!
