This is myself, Ralph Mitchell standing beside my Peacock Door that I recently completed for the Wishmaker's House in Bellville, Ohio.
It is approximately 85 inches high and 36 inches wide. The window is iridescent fused glass of the traditional moon face. The peacock is resting at night time on a weeping (pendulant) cherry tree.
All carved elements are sculpted as one piece with the wood, not glued or screwed on, the thickest points being 5 inches thick. Very large, very heavy. Intoxicatingly beautiful of my own design. it is awaiting hardware. The stars are gold leafed in 23 Karat gold. In the Art Nouveau style.
