I love employing poplar in special ways and this bench/coffee table is one of my favorites. It has both rustic and modern appeal that will sit well with the most industrial urban apartments as well as a beach house living room.

I start with one wide plank that contains lots of character. I then sanded is tip it feels like sot glass then I tan it in the California sun for a couple days. Each one is unique, yet the simple minimalist design allows several to be used in tandem or even mix well with both rustic or modern decor elements.
