This bracelet is a hand pierced and sawed sterling silver illustration of the Yggdrasil tree, atop a hammered piece of copper printed with the vein-like texture of a leaf. The chain is handmade and a combination of sterling silver, bronze and 14k gold fill, complete with a toggle clasp. I make all of my findings.
The owner of this piece had imagined a two-sided tree and we talked back and forth for a bit about imagery- before we landed on the inspiration of the Yggdrasil. It was my sincere joy and deep love to deliver it and see the face of my client light up. She described her experience as seemingly coming back into contact with an ancient piece of jewelry she had already known and had in some previous time.
When I make this wearable art jewelry for a client- I consider it a collaboration and work to really get what people are drawn to and interested in. I end up feeling like a channel- and it seems that what ends up getting created comes through me and is able to reach the visions and desires of my client, both physically and spiritually. It is my deep pleasure to work in these kinds of relationships.
