Zen Computer Desk And Chair

This is a table and chair I made for my Godson who is an Aikido Sensei.

He told me it had to look like something out of "The Last Samurai".

It is made of reclaimed redwood and I designed it to fit into a corner of his office. I very much wanted to capture the feel of a venerable, ageless temple atmosphere with it. It is solid, yet light, and very stable.

I am inspired by the plutonic solids and I feel the triangle design gives that zen stability inherent in Budo. The chair is very low and grounded, light yet solid.

I am very pleased every time I see Vittorio sitting at his desk. He likes the low center of gravity and the ability to easily rise from his chair (needed by Ninjas!).

It is a perfect computer desk but you could use it on a balcony or veranda to place plants or a cup of tea or two.

What do you like? What ideas do you have. I can make it in a square or rectangular shape if desired.
