Kite engagement ring designs

A handful of designs we love that feature kite-shaped center stones

Updated August 4, 2022

After having their heyday in the 1920s and 30s during the Art Deco period, the kite-cut center stone is back in fashion and we couldn’t be more delighted about it. We are sure this collection of beautiful kite engagement rings is going to have your other-half’s heart soaring.

1

Kicking off this kite collection is a truly unique design. This stylish couple chose rose gold as the setting for their masterpiece - a glittering cluster of gray diamonds surrounding a kite cut moissanite center stone. Additional moissanite accents glitter down the side of the band adding even more sparkle. Oh so chic.

If you’re going with a unique kite center stone cut, you might as well go all out and add some color in there too! The incredible color combination of the deep blue, lab-created alexandrite with the soft rose gold of the band has us swooning. Or maybe it’s the way the delicate diamond accents provide the perfect frame for the centerpiece. Adding a further touch of uniqueness—the six prong setting used to hold the alexandrite into place.

3

It is no coincidence that this deep-thinking couple chose moonstone as their centerpiece. Moonstone is a symbol of light, hope and new beginnings, which makes it a meaningful choice for their engagement ring. We love how the kite-cut moonstone is coupled with turquoise accents and split shank rose gold band for an added twist.

Those looking for a more sultry, almost witchy aesthetic will swoon over this next ring in the collection. Its dark, bewitching, salt and pepper kite-cut diamond set into the pavé rose gold band is giving us Morticia Addams vibes in all the best ways.

5

Moving from dark to light, we come to this next ring in our collection, featuring an elegant soft pink morganite with an elongated kite shape. Marquise diamonds delicately frame the morganite, and finally a simple rose gold band make this the perfect ring for Becca, who was kind enough to share this gorgeous picture of how incredible it looks on her hand.

In our opinion, there is no such thing as too much bling. This eye-catching bridal set takes colorful bling to the next level, featuring a lab-grown emerald in a kite shape as its center stone. White opals, orange critines, and a touch of diamonds make for a symmetrically interesting cluster. We love that this couple decided to go all out and create something truly unique for their big day.

7

Last, but by no means least in our lineup, this ring takes us back in time to the 1920’s with its wonderful Art Deco-inspired feel. The kite cut moss agate center stone is held neatly by a twisted yellow gold band, with a partial halo of diamond accents giving it the final touch.
