A few of our favorite engagement rings incorporating rope

This article is part of our What's Your Inspiration series, where we explore the personal touches and sources of inspiration our customers bring to their engagement rings.

Tied around your heart

Ready your lassos: it’s time for a rope-inspired engagement ring round up! This symbol is perfect for marriage, as ropes and knots represent the binding of two lives with strong ties and interwoven threads. Get ready to take inspiration from the braided bands, Celtic designs, nautical knots, and many other creative rope elements that these couples used to symbolize their union.

1

This first ring “roped” us in with its braided white gold band and teardrop solitaire design. It was created for a bride who loves twisted bands and coral-inspired pieces, so our team combined an alexandrite center stone with shifting blue tones and a woven band to satisfy both themes.

2

Ahoy, mateys! This nautical-inspired engagement ring is ready for the adventure of a lifetime. The groom planned to propose near the ocean, so he asked for a rope and wave theme for his future bride’s ring. You can see both ropes and waves along the sides of the yellow gold band, and the yellow sapphire center stone and green peridot accents resemble the sun setting over calm waters.

3

A couple of climbing enthusiasts gave us the inspiration for this next ring! Choosing a moissanite set in white gold, this couple opted for a climbing figure 8 knot along the band to represent their shared interest. They’re also into the asymmetrical look, so we placed the knot to one side of the stone to achieve this effect.

4

This ring looks like it belongs on the hands of royalty! The groom-to-be sent us designs with delicate knot embellishments, so we added some soft woven knots into the yellow gold band. The bright metal really makes the marquise lab diamond at the center of this ring pop!

5

The groom’s inspiration for this ring included ornate vintage rings with twisted white bands, so we made it happen! This halo design features a moissanite center stone and accents, and the braided white gold band includes a secret engraving from the groom: his future bride’s new name, Mrs. Moharter. So sweet!

6

For this sentimental bridal set, the groom took inspiration from Celtic and Bavarian knot designs. The heart-shaped aquamarine and champagne diamond accents complement the rose gold setting, and we love those intricate knot patterns along both bands.

7

The couple that designed this ring wanted a cable or rope braid design for their bridal set, so we created a braided white gold engagement ring as well as a matching wedding band. The mystic topaz center stone sparkles with hints of blue, purple, orange, and green, and peep that special message from the groom at the base of the band: 1-1-20, a date that’s special to the couple.

8

The last ring on our list features a stunning diamond center stone and accents on a mixed metal setting. A closer look reveals a nautical theme with ropes winding around the sides of the band and anchors sitting along each side of the center diamond. This groom wanted to bring his fiancée’s love of anchors to life in her engagement ring, and we created a bridal set fit for a seafaring couple!
