I am a
creative designer, making useful objects out of carefully selected wood species that reflect a certain design idea that will have a special appeal . . . picture frames and mirrors, small cabinets, night or bed tables, coffee tables, table top boxes, book cases, and other useful household items. I primarily work in oak, mahogany maple cherry and redwood but many other species are available from nearby sources when desired.
Custom Arts & Crafts, Mission, or Adirondack style pegged joint picture frames using quarter sawn oak, mahogany or redwood are a popular specialty. Other Arts & Crafts, MIssion or Craftsman inspired designs for practical furnishings are constantly in the works.
Custom Natural Wood Picture Frames
by John Oct 16th 2012
I am a real estate broker and have clients coming in and out of my office all day. I am also a nature photographer who likes to capture small creatures on film—like frogs and turtles in wet places. I know the photos get a lot attention from my clients but now I can show them off on my office wall in a group of custom made frames from Jefferson Crafts. Ranging in size from 8"x10" to 16"x20", the frames, with their traditional craftsman styled joints and natural wood finishes, get as many admiring comments as the photos. I particularly like the newest one, a 16" x 20" frame made with African Ribbon Striped Mahogany and Adirondack style lap joints.
