Curved Bridge

During the reconstruction of the Japanese American Cultural and Community Center in Los Angeles, Ca, the upper falls needed a low rail footbridge. The design allows the visitor to view the upper falls from a lower elevation without obstruction.
The curved rails are tapered from halfway to the top and the structure is handplaned to further enhance the beauty of the material and to keep it in line with the traditional Japanese carpentry. The Alaskan yellow cedar material is left to be aged naturally. Read more Read less
