Funkwerks Beer Garden Fences
Funkwerks is located in the industrial park just East of Old Town Fort Collins, great place, delicious beer, awesome folks, down the street from the shop, great view of the mountains, not that great of traffic outside the patio. We were presented with the opportunity to fix that with a well designed beer garden fence, since we had designed and built their patio table and stools a couple years earlier, we were a perfect fit and already familiar with the space (we're also neighbors/regulars).
All of the steel uprights except the corners and the tall posts were constructed out of Funkwerks own recycled material, what once transported their fermentation tanks now housed Saison connoisseurs enjoying patio weather.
The wood was all locally sourced Beetle Kill Pine from the mountains just West of town.
Each tall upright section was designed to one day grow hop plants (I should send them a reminder about that detail!) while reducing traffic noise on the patio and inside when the double doors are open to let in a fresh Colorado breeze.
We even checked with local utilities before we dug the posts like real pros! We only dug into one old drain pipe…
