What a wonderful artist Michelle is! After meeting with us initially to better understand what we had in mind for the transom window, she prepared several artist drawings with suggested themes. Every one was a possibility that we could have been pleased with. With her talent it made it difficult to decide. We settled on one, then changed to another, and finally after incorporating elements from more than one, and with further changes and additions we finally settled on what has become a work of art in the 6' wide arched transom window above our 8' front doors. It incorporates elements of the family's heritage with a truly wonderful rondel at it's center.
The design of the pendant light is inspired b the warm tones of the craftsman style. The client wanted to highlight the oak tree that grows in her front yard and autumn is her favorite season. The design and palette brings these elements together. The variations found within each sheet of glass gives every side it's own unique look.
The look of the house numbers was inspired by the craftsman style pillars that frame the client's front porch. They were fabricated from copper, overlaid with solder and given a black patina to match the rest of the lamp.
The pendant lamp is complete with electrical wiring, chain and canopy ready to be installed. It will great the client and her family with the warmth each time they return home.
