Reclaimed red oak table and bench. After acquiring the 250 year old red oak from and old barn near my home in western NC, I lightly planed it to reveal it's true beauty. After filling in all of the old nail holes and surface imperfections, I jointed each and set them up for the best grain match. … Loose tenons and glue joined these boards for another 200 years. Long tenons with pegs hold all the bases together. These are capped with walnut. The entire table and bench are sealed with polyurethane. A smooth, level finish was rubbed out to provide years of low maintenance use. Measuring 40"w x92"lx 30"t.

I felt it prudent to add the center bracing on your bench. Your table won't have this feature as per your request.

Breadboard ends are highlighted with walnut keys

One side of the leg and apron assembly is leaning on the table

your bench got the same treatment and walnut through mortise caps added to echo those in the table

The large holes and all the nail holes are filled with epoxy and will disappear when the final finish is applied, leaving a smooth surface.

We ordered a custom dining room table from Marty. He worked with us on design, taking our ideas and adding his own. He found old wood for the project and sent us a pix of the building it came from- lots of fun to see. He delivered exactly on time. The table has a beautiful patina and is well made, well proportioned and well designed. We love it. The only problem we had was that the leaves he delivered with the table were slightly too small. When we complained, he immediately took the leaves back and agree to re-make them at no additional cost. Haven't seen them yet, but my guess is that they will be perfect.

TV stand

Marty produced exactly what I was looking for. He meshed my functional requirements perfectly with my style rerequirements and produced a TV stand and AV component system that was not available on the market and did it at a price well below what you would pay for smaller less capable units. Marty stayed connected throughout the design and build process. He provided me with timely information and options when decision points arose. On top of all that he delivered it to my living room free of charge.

I am so happy that I found Marty for my project. I felt his work would be quality based on pictures on his website, and he did not disappoint! He was very easy to deal with, timely on communication, help me design just what I was looking for, and I could not have been more thrilled with the end product ! Marty was fabulous to work with -- he really collaborated with me to create a design that was just my style even though I didn't come in with one in mind. Craftsmanship is very high quality. I couldn't be happier with how it turned out! A few photos attached. Highly recommend working with him!!
