Working with Amy was a breeze. She was very patient with someone totally inexperienced with woodworking. She held my hand throughout the entire process while still giving me freedom of choice. In the end, what matters most is that my item got here extremely fast, came out exactly as discussed, and elegantly designed to boot. I couldn’t recommend her enough.
It was a lot of fun making this "broken" chess board for Lynn to display her over sized chess pieces. With a few photos of the pieces and some dimensions Lynn and I landed on a color scheme and we got the project rolling.
Board is approximately 15" x 15" with 4" squares.
The veneer playing field is Cherry & Maple on one side;
Figured Ash & Ovangkol on the other. Edge banding is Cherry, Maple, and Walnut banding.
A very fun project and a clever way to display her giant chess pieces.

This is the second board that Amy has made for me. I wanted a partial chess board to display my 6 large chess pieces and I wanted it to look as though it were broken. I loved that Amy could see my vision and gave my project life. I have a one of a kind work of art in my living room! Thank you (again) Amy!
