40 Inch Diameter Pedestal Table With Custom Inlay
This table was CNC carved from a reclaimed solid-core door. The door was manufactured by Mohawk Flush Doors, Inc in 1964 with a Birch-ply exterior. This Birch is different from what you'll see today, the grain is much tighter and full of figuring. The table is pictured without edge-banding, a 2" border of solid wood, which will be stained accordingly and added upon ordering, and is included in the table top price. The base is constructed of plywood circles that were scrap from sheet-processing. I machined a hole in the center of each circle to fit a 2" pipe that runs from the table, down into the base. The base is filled with approximately 40lbs of concrete and capped with the bottom disk. This particular table is finished out in polycrylic on the surface and shellac on the base. I can finish the surface with whatever topcoats you prefer (lacquer, shellac, french polish, urethane, polyurethane, etc...).
