This is an art glass commission for a custom prairie-style home in Central Oregon. The house has dominant stone work on the exterior, abundant use of local Blue Pine in the floors and cabinetry and a dramatic view of the distant Willowa Mountains out the picture windows to the left. My goal was to play with those three dominate motifs while paying homage to the Native American culture of the area. My wall space has strong natural lighting during the day and soft artificial light at night so all of the elements are intended for reflected light viewing. The piece is constructed with hand forged metal elements that contain blue cast glass landscape components textured by native stone. There are also five medallions each constructed out of glass, metal and wood.
