Ohio Cherry Arched Coffee Table
Made of Ohio "Gum" Cherry, a term that describes the wood's dark lines of pitch that follow some of the grain lines, giving the wood an even richer color. Due to the various curves in the apron parts of the table, I made the legs a parallelogram shape to carry the bend into the corners. Two different forms were made to steam-bend the six parts that make-up the apron and stretcher members. Solid, mortise and tenon joinery throughout.
