Assembly Table Torsion Box Workbench
Built to be extremely rigid, durable, and long lasting. I used 3/4" Birch plywood for carcass construction and drawers, 1/2" Birch plywood for drawer bottoms, select 3/4" Birch plywood for grain continuity of drawer faces and drawers. The top was made in a torsion box contraction for superior strength and rigidity. It is a sandwich of 1/2" MDF with an MDF gridwork every 10" between two 1/2" MDF skins. I wrapped it in Hard Maple with Bubinga plugs to cover the screws. FInally, the work surface is a durable, yet replaceable tempered hardboard (masonite) top fastened by screws.
